Anglers from across the RM fished round 9 of the boat league on Friday 11 Dec. The anticipated Skate match was moved into Loch Etive due to skipper's concerns about the weather. A crisp clear day in the Loch and plenty of soup and tea kept spirits high and there was no shortage of fish either. The loch was jam packed with Spurdogs although many were newly borne we did manage to tag a couple of nice fish at the back end of the day. Although Colin is unable to fish the Cod Champs next week, he bagged himself a Cod for Christmas anyway also at the final mark for the day. The top three RM anglers were Colin SHEARSBY NCHQ, Andy BRIDSON FPGRM and Rob SHIEL RMR Glasgow. The pictures show probably the smallest shark of the day, the tagged fish and Colin's bonus Cod.

Also above are two specimen sized spurdog taken by Andy Bridson and Scotty McAleese from the recent Spurdog Tagathon. This is a conservation event to catch tag and release as many scottish shark species as possible to increase knowledge of all of the species
