Inter-Services Shore Report 2008

Well Done the Lads

Inter-Services Winners

Let me begin by saying thank to all anglers who manage to make this years Inter-Services Shore Comp, they were left - right row:

AET Mark Williams, CPO Nick Carter, LtCDR Knobby Clark, WO2 Ian Gibbs, SGT Scotty McAleese (Team Capt).

Front Row:

CPO Brian Roach, LET(ME) Andy Clayton, CPO Toyah Willcock, CPO Jessie James and WO1 Kep Canning. We started the competition at a slight disadvantage as we only managed to field 10 anglers out of a team of 12 but a good couple of days fishing earned us second place beating the RAF but just losing out to the Army. This years event was hosted by the Army and held at Warmer Castle, Deal. There was few fish caught on the Wednesday (Night Match) with a few blanks but Thursday (Day Match) was a real tester with over half of all anglers blanking. We did however manage to clear the sea of copious amounts of weed.

A special mention has to go to Andy Clayton, who stepped into the breach at the eleventh hour, having never used a beach coaster before he caught on both days.

Well done to all that caught.

2008 RN/RMAA Shore Champion

Nick CarterWell done to Nick (scratching) Carter for winning the RN/RMAA Shore competition this year. A close second for Toyah Willcock.
