Gold Valley Lakes on Monday 19th October 2009 was the venue for round 3 of the Inter-Command Championships. An excellent effort put in by all Command reps resulted in 27 anglers attending (well done)! A very cold weather snap (true to form) ensured that this was going to prove to be a difficult venue to fish, thankfully the rain did not arrive as feared.

Mr John Panther and associate member was the winner of the match with a superb weight of 124lb 3oz, CPO Nick Jones, HMS Tireless was runner up with 114lb 1oz, both these members were from the advanced category and represented Plymouth. Mr Marco Middleton was the winning intermediate angler with a weight of 54lb 5oz representing Scotland. CDR Steve Mardlin based at FLEET HQ put in a cracking performance to win the novices section with a weight of 54lb 8oz.

In the team event with only one round remaining the scores are very close between the top 3 commands: Royal Marines 13 pts, NAC 12 pts, Plymouth 11 pts, Scotland & Portsmouth were well out of contention with 5 and 2 pts respectively.
