Membership Information
Fishing with the RN&RMAA
Personal membership of the RN&RMAA Association falls into the 4 categories listed below; Full, X-List, Associate and Life and the membership form can be downloaded from here.
- Full Membership. This is the corporate grade of membership open to all serving officers and ratings of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines and members of other Services temporarily attached to the Royal Navy and members of the RFA. They are eligible for election to the Association’s Central Committee.
- Associate Membership & X-List. This is open to retired personnel of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. It is also open to retired personnel of the Army and RAF, where they qualified for full membership and by invitation, to a strictly limited number of MOD(N) civilians who have special qualifications by which they can contribute to the Association or an employee who works for an MOD Contractor. Association & X-list members may attend Central Committee Meetings as a Sub-Committee representative.
- Life Membership. This may be given as an honour to retiring Full Members who have given particularly long and meritorious service to the Association on the Central Committee. Life Members have no voting rights but they may apply to take part in the Association’s activities on the same basis as Full Members. They are ineligible for election to the Central Committee.
Fishing at Sultan & Dryad
While the RN&RMAA are fully recognised by the Single and Combined Services Sports boards and attracts funding from central funds as well as Sports Lottery, and offers members access to trade accounts with Fox International and Richworth Bait and Tackle, we are fully aware of the desire of Portsmouth locals and visitors to the locale to fish Southwick Park lake and HMS SULTAN moat. To do this you will also need to join the Portsmouth Royal Navy and Royal Marines Coarse Angling Association. Further information can be found on the Portsmouth RN&RMAA Coarse Angling Association website.
In future it is hoped that matches run by the Portsmouth RN&RM CAA will become selection matches for higher national divisional matches administered through the RN&RMAA. Work is ongoing in this area. In the meantime, if you want to fish Sultan & Dryad, you need to join Portsmouth RN&RM CAA (website link above).
Membership benefits of the RN&RMAA are obvious and you might give some thought to being a member of both associations.
