RNRMAA Match 1 2007
The weekend of the 3 - 5 Aug saw the first Royal Navy and Royal Marine Angling Association Carp Match of 2007. It took place on the Big Hayes lake, part of the Todber Manor complex in Dorset. 16 anglers congregated early Friday for the watercraft draw with most favouring pegs 9, 1 and 2 following a constant wind and many showing fish.
The overall winner, receiving the FAA Cup and generous vouchers from John at the Todber shop, was Dave Downing from RNAS Yeovilton with 89lb 1oz after 48 hours fishing. He also won the top pair prize, a pair of Trakker Products thermal bedchair covers along with his partner John Andrews for a combined total of 154lb 10oz.
A 21lb 8oz common also saw Dave take the Dynamite Baits prize for heaviest fish, all from peg 1. Spoiling a clean sweep was novice Sid Davies, from peg 9, who took the Hinders Prize for the first fish of the weekend.
The RNRMAA Carp Section would like to thank our sponsors for their valued support for this and upcoming events for 2007.
