Welcome to the Carp pages of the RN&RMAA website

The Carp Section is a sub section of the Coarse section of the RN&RM AA.

The section started in 2006 and has rapidly increased to around 50 members.

The aim of the section is to promote Carp Fishing within the RN and RM with a view to competing against the Army and RAF at inter service level as well as command level, with the long-term aim of entering a team into the British Carp Angling Championships (BCAC).

We hold 3 or 4 formal matches throughout the year on a variety of quality venues around the country. These are based on the BCAC concept of fishing in pairs over 48 hours, which seems to be the national standard. Those without the competitive gene are encouraged to attend as we aim to hold the matches on venues that may not otherwise be available and at a reduced price. We also hold fish-ins just for the social aspect of meeting like-minded anglers under the service banner, again usually at reduced day-ticket prices. Some of the venues we have already used include Todber Manor, Pavyotts Mill, Horseshoe Lake, Willow Park, Upper Tamar Lake, Sapphire Lakes and Broadlands.

France is also on the horizon with subsidised trips planned for 2008 as well as Tri Service competition abroad.

The Navy Carpers were instrumental in the introduction of the forum section of the site having seen how it has worked for both the Army Carpers and RAF Carpers. It will be our main means of disseminating information and generate the usual service banter. It has become enormously popular within the Carp Section containing lots of useful information. Many of our sponsors can be found there with links direct to their respective web sites. If you've never used one before please don't be shy, there are plenty of people on there who will help if and when it's needed.

Enjoy your visit
