Fishing Report
Report from Grant Maxwell-Thompson

Well on arrival at Bushyleaze yesterday morning we could have been forgiven for thinking we had arrived on the wrong day! Blue skies, warmth and hardly a breath of wind!

Tony Wilkinson did however arrive on the wrong day and fished the venue 24 hours early.......care to give us detail Tony?

We got started at 10 am following the traditional Tot of Rum which Chris provided and I poured! Rather than saying cheese, I said Mark Glass in a toast to an absent friend, (the Rum didn't get finished this time!)

By 10:10 I was into my first fish on a Cat's whisker and missed a couple messing around trying to drink a can of Relentless rather than paying attention...

I was hoping to take my fish on nymphs who were on my droppers with the weighted cat to get them down but the fish had other ideas.

I then added a 2nd fish soon after also on the Cat and decided to remove it in favour of a weighted Olive Damsel.

This failed to slow things down and by 11 am I had 4.

Buzz lightyear arrived as I killed the 4th fish and informed me we were on a 4 fish ticket not the 6 fish I had assumed so that was the end of my fishing. Never mind, it means I have time to get round the lake and take a few action shots for the report!!

At 11:30 Duke Ellsworth bagged up with his 4th and a big smile!

Of the 16 people who fished this match 12 people bagged up which leads me to believe that we really should have a time bonus incorporated especially when none of the fish were of any particular size! I didn't see anything much over 3lb! So it was a total lottery!

Therefore, whilst my fish lost weight gradually I went off in search of photographs!

It was a great day in Excellent company and some uncharacteristically superb weather!! The fish weren't as spectacular in size as some of the fish we had in the Trafalgar shield but were very fit and able!
